Title: Imaging for Biomedical Applications

Abstract: Vision and Imaging are the rapidly emerging research area that has been successfully translated into robotics and biomedical applications in the recent years. The hospital clinical trial sexamines the use of signal and image processing techniques. So Imaging for Biomedical applications bridges the gap between engineers and clinicians. The proposed session specifically aims to focus the research outcome on Vision and image recognition, Processing, Image analysis and related Algorithms for healthcare system. Written from an engineer’s perspective, the session deliberates image acquisition methods, image processing, and pattern recognition techniques for Health care system or Engineering in Medicine. Scientists and academics are encouraged to submit their work for peer review followed by presentation, research networking and publication in the form of original articles.

Dr. S.Parasuraman, BE. ME., PhD. (Australia), leads the research in the area of Robotic, BioMedical Engineering, Health care system and Artificial Intelligence at Monash University Malaysia. He is attached with School of Engineering as Research cluster Leader in Robotics and Automation since 2010 besides his teaching Robotics and AI for Engineers. He has his PhD in the area of Robotics from Monash University Australia in 2005 and continuing thereafter with the same university. He has published 247 articles in Refereed Journals, Book chapters and Proceedings. He has supervised 4 PhD andanother two of them are ongoing. He has been awarded the Research Excellence in ROBOTICS from Monash University continuously for 8 years since 2008. His research grant and contract is approximately US$750,000 (INR 50 million) from External and Internal sources until now. Additionally his professional services includes as Chairman, IEEE Robotics and Automation, Malaysia Chapter. Currently he is working in Monash University Malaysia as Associate Professor.
